"If only you could see what I have seen with your eyes." - Roy Batty, Nexus 6.

As Roy, the leader of the renegade replicants exracts information from Chew, the genetic engineer that created his eyes, he calmly utters a passage - bonding himself to his father, Tyrell, and the creator of his vision, Chew.

Roy's eyes, his vision, and the raging melancholy towards the "creator", Tyrell, is immaculately captured at the end of the film when he begins to calmly ponder the things he has seen, accepting that he is going to die.

His vision, and the memories it has invited into his mind "will be lost like tears in the rain"... His memories, those he and the other replicants hold onto as dear as life. His memories, his identity and all he has to love and ponder are derived from vision, source from eyes that are not his own.

Roy's eyes, just like all the eyes of his comrades, were designed by Chew - and even Chew does not know what they have seen. For Roy has claimed wondrous memories, with eyes that are not his own, making the memories themselves enigmatic entities that form his identity.
